yoga class FOR photo class

What’s it all about?

We have a group of photographers who have
offered their time & services in support of the “Get Back to
NATURE(al)” Weekend Retreat to be held at Fall Creek Falls State Park
on April 17-19. We are taking entries for photographs to be used in our
campaign. Yoga, kayaking, hiking, all things “nature(al)”.

We are taking applications for an upcoming photo shoot. The details will be announced on the website listed below.

Please
submit your day of choice, which outdoor activities you would like to
participate in – try to be creative! What is your yoga experience?
There is no wrong answer; we are just getting an idea of how many
advanced to beginners.

What DO we have?
1. The perfect outdoor setting with naturally flowing waterfalls, gorges, valleys and gulfs.
2. Natural beauty in every direction you look.
3.
A few photographers that have volunteered their time to take yoga
photographs for portfolios, practice and for the parks marketing
& advertising venues.
4. An opportunity to share some yoga with us & others.
5. Photos :: be the model, the photographer or both.
6.
The potential to get some great photos of you some someone else in the
great out of doors! We are getting the canoes or kayaks on the lake
also.

What DO we need?
1. Anyone who can come join us as we
explore the park for the best locations based upon photographer
criteria :: where is the sun, shadows cast, cloudy or sunny, cropping
ideas, etc...
2. Everyone who wants to Get Back to NATURE(al)- share some yoga with "self" and others.
3. Folks willing to get on the lake so we can get some activity shots.
4. Ideas / Suggestions / Collaboration for :: great yoga, photography and all things nature.

If you are interested in being photographed during a yoga class / out on
the lake (whether permitting) and are open to having a great time while
doing it :: then we want you. Snacks will be provided – and good times
are meant to be had by all!

We were disappointed at the cancellation - but know that the seeking does not stop just because the "class" room setting is postponed. We are unable to drive there each weekend (4.5 hours is just a little much), but the deZengo Team and friends are not giving up. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

So, keep an ear open and let us know if you hear or know of a "conscious" studio near Fall Creek Falls State Park. Chattanooga has some studios - what say ye my Yoga community!

Yoga & Life begin with BREATH

It is said that the first breath a newborn takes as it enters the world and leaves the protective womb of the mother is the most sacred and important! That first breath must be deep :: to clear the lungs of residue mucus.

Yoga takes the same principle of breath and clearly creates focus on it, so that the significance of that life giving action. We take it for granted, we do it involuntarily, but few actually think about the deeper connection.

Pranayama,has been called the art of yoga breathing. Breathing is life. It is one of our most vital functions. One of the Five Principles of Yoga is Pranayama or Breathing Exercise which promotes proper breathing. In a Yogic point of view, proper breathing is to bring more oxygen to the blood and to the brain, and to control Prana or the vital life energy. Pranayama Yoga also goes hand in hand with the Asanas. The union of these two Yogic Principles is considered as the highest form of purification and self-discipline, covering both mind and body.
